A furnished living room may already tell the right story but look dull because of mixed lighting or a tilted camera. Enhancement addresses how that room is photographed: balancing light, correcting colour and straightening lines within the agreed brief. It is useful when the information is present but difficult to read. Permanent features and condition remain the reference. Removing a loose bucket with approval is different from erasing a damp patch or replacing a worn floor. If a change could affect what a viewer believes they are buying or renting, it needs more than an aesthetic justification. ## When does virtual staging help? An empty bedroom can leave a buyer unsure how a bed and storage might fit. Virtual staging adds a proposed furniture arrangement while retaining the photographed room. Agree the room’s intended use and style before production, then check scale, openings and circulation against the original. Staging shows a possibility, not furniture included in the transaction. Label the result as virtually staged and retain the empty-room image for comparison. It is not a substitute for a floor plan, physical inspection or measured dimensions. ## How do you choose for one listing? Choose by the problem in each photograph rather than applying one treatment to every room. An occupied kitchen may need enhancement while a vacant bedroom needs staging. Describe both needs in the brief and ask for the scope to distinguish them before work begins. If the source fails to show a permanent feature clearly, supply another photograph. Generating an attractive interpretation of an unseen wall does not confirm what is there.
